Please do not forward this link around yet! This is still in development and will be "released", God willing, on August 1, in time for the thirteenth cycle of Daf Yomi.

This is an early draft. I haven't proofread; there are plenty of typos and probably some more significant errors as well.
Most pages on this site are currently auto-translated. The autotranslations are intended as a starting point for my manual translations. At best, they are awkward stringing-togethers of words and phrases in the corpus database that can benefit from cleaning up. At worst, they are picking the wrong homograph. Auto-translations are indicated by italics.
I am not a rabbi or an expert. These are my translations, and in some cases I am certainly misunderstanding things.
The Talmud is a document of its time. While the Talmud is a foundational document of Judaism, it must be read in its historical context. There are passages that are xenophobic, sexist, and irreconcilable with modern science. Not everything in these pages represents contemporary Judaism.
Copyright
This translation is protected by copyright. I'm putting a lot of effort into this project. Please respect that by only copying with my permission.
I intend to provide free licenses for most uses. I plan to use a Creative Commons CC-NC-BY-SA license, which will allow you to re-use my translations as long as you don't charge money for them (NC), as long as you give me credit (BY), and as long as you make your derived work available under the same terms (SA). But I'm not ready to do that yet because this is still a very rough work-in-progress.
In the meantime, if you want to re-use this, please contact me. I am willing to discuss re-use on an ad hoc basis. Perhaps the one page you want to use is actually ready for re-use. Ask. I'll probably work out a way to say "yes."

I need to clean up this section. But for now, I'll note that I've made use of the Hebrew/Aramaic text of the Bavli at Mechon Mamre; Jastrow's dictionary; "The Practical Talmud Dictionary" by Yitzchak Frank. I've also used the big three translations of the Talmud --- Soncino (English), Artscroll (English), and Steinsaltz (Hebrew) --- and the Kehati (English) edition of the Mishna, to help me understand passages before translating them.

we had heard The reason is and we had heard ??? except for he said: sent forth And what can we come and learn from this? ??? To exclude ??? And the halacha is according to the opinion "who brings forth bread from the land" ??? that they said ??? and on the vegetables says ??? The tanna teaches: vegetables is equivalent ??? Just as bread ??? by way of lit., through the hands of the fire lit., the light Even vegetables also ??? by way of lit., through the hands of the fire lit., the light he said Rabinai in the name ??? This one says stewed things they bless about them "who creates the fruit of the earth" ??? When the baraita teaches vegetables is equivalent ??? Rav Chisda It is because of this: our rabbi, ??? Rav stewed things they bless upon them "who creates the fruit of the earth" ??? from the land of Israel ??? in the name of R' Yochanan he said stewed things they bless about them "of whom all things came into being through His word" and as for me, says all ??? It concerns itself ??? and he read except all ??? in what way does It concerns itself Thus said Rabbi ??? son of Isaac It concerns itself ??? and Kerati ??? Rav ??? It is because of this: our rabbi, ??? One who has chosen to participate but not ??? despite the fact that did not have ??? and not She ??? stewed things they bless about them ??? and Up to this point, R' Yosi does not come to say i.e., what he really means is not that there i.e., in another mishna except It is because of this: ??? there is not in this case. But here, in this case, Even if Rabbi Yosei give thanks he said R' Chiyya bar Abba that R' Yochanan said stewed things they bless upon them ??? and R' Benjamin son of ??? that R' Yochanan said stewed things they bless upon them "of whom all things came into being through His word" Thus said Rabbi ??? son of Isaac fixed ??? Benjamin son of ??? she became of it R' Zeira And so What is the connection between R' Benjamin son of ??? next to R' Chiyya bar Abba R' Chiyya bar Abba ??? Yochanan ??? And Rabbi Benjamin son of ??? No. ??? And furthermore, Rabbi Chiyya bar Abba all ??? he turned ??? in front of R' Yochanan ??? and R' Benjamin son of ??? he did not turn And furthermore, son of from judgement son of from judgement ??? for him "satisfied" There were times when ??? for him ??? a meal they came and They asked to R' Yochanan and he said to them they bless ??? "who creates the fruit of the earth" And furthermore, he said R' Chiyya bar Abba I I saw R' Yochanan who ate olive tree that is salted and he makes a blessing upon it at first the end of If you say, This is satisfactory stewed things ??? they stand at the beginning he makes the blessing upon it "who created the fruit of the tree" and in the end he makes the blessing upon it one blessing a summary of three except If you say, stewed things Is this not ??? they stand This is satisfactory at the beginning he makes the blessing upon it "of whom all things came into being through His word" except in the end What does he say when he makes the blessing? perhaps, created souls ??? on all Just as that He challenged this "He" meaning... created Rav Isaac son of Shmuel vegetables ??? he would exit of them the hands of ??? on Passover he would exit of them ??? that are theirs but not ??? and not ??? and not ??? And if it enters your mind to argue that ??? he arises ??? why is it that No. It is different there in that case ??? there is not in this case. He said to him: Rabbi ??? to Rabbi Zeira Rabbi Yochanan in what way does he makes the blessing on olive tree that is salted immediately ???
