PREVIEW OF THE DAFCAST WEBSITE FOR CYCLE 13

Please do not forward this link around yet! This is still in development and will be "released", God willing, on August 1, in time for the thirteenth cycle of Daf Yomi.

This is an early draft. I haven't proofread; there are plenty of typos and probably some more significant errors as well.
Most pages on this site are currently auto-translated. The autotranslations are intended as a starting point for my manual translations. At best, they are awkward stringing-togethers of words and phrases in the corpus database that can benefit from cleaning up. At worst, they are picking the wrong homograph. Auto-translations are indicated by italics.
I am not a rabbi or an expert. These are my translations, and in some cases I am certainly misunderstanding things.
The Talmud is a document of its time. While the Talmud is a foundational document of Judaism, it must be read in its historical context. There are passages that are xenophobic, sexist, and irreconcilable with modern science. Not everything in these pages represents contemporary Judaism.

Copyright

This translation is protected by copyright. I'm putting a lot of effort into this project. Please respect that by only copying with my permission.
I intend to provide free licenses for most uses. I plan to use a Creative Commons CC-NC-BY-SA license, which will allow you to re-use my translations as long as you don't charge money for them (NC), as long as you give me credit (BY), and as long as you make your derived work available under the same terms (SA). But I'm not ready to do that yet because this is still a very rough work-in-progress.
In the meantime, if you want to re-use this, please contact me. I am willing to discuss re-use on an ad hoc basis. Perhaps the one page you want to use is actually ready for re-use. Ask. I'll probably work out a way to say "yes."

I need to clean up this section. But for now, I'll note that I've made use of the Hebrew/Aramaic text of the Bavli at Mechon Mamre; Jastrow's dictionary; "The Practical Talmud Dictionary" by Yitzchak Frank. I've also used the big three translations of the Talmud --- Soncino (English), Artscroll (English), and Steinsaltz (Hebrew) --- and the Kehati (English) edition of the Mishna, to help me understand passages before translating them.

This is satistfactory According to the sages, that they said ??? Is this not ??? he is equivalent. except to R' Eliezer ??? for he said: ??? he is equivalent. What is there to say? He said to him Rav Acha the son of of Rav ??? for he said: ??? he is equivalent. in a case ??? but: in a case That there are ??? who ??? for him Therefore, about this teaching is comparable that R' Yochanan said give thanks ben Azzai ??? Another teaching is like this: the taking out ??? a way ??? he is liable one the taking out and one ??? and one ??? and one ??? ben Azzai says the taking out ??? is exempt ??? The Rabbis taught four ??? to Shabbat ??? a place is exempt And what is meant by this term ??? a furrow that he was ??? four and thus hedge that he was that is high ??? four This is ??? And what is meant by this term ??? that is large ??? This is ??? We do not bring out ??? -- this refers to ??? -- this refers to And there is no meaning to the word ??? -- this refers to ??? -- this refers to and if ??? and He brought in in error he is liable A sin-offering with intent ??? he is spiritually cut off ??? but: sea ??? It is not No. ??? and not ??? And there is no meaning to the word raise ??? and if exalted. and gave ??? is exempt and We do not bring out from its midst ??? and not ??? to its midst And there is no meaning to the word ??? to its midst and not from its midst ??? and if ??? and He brought in is exempt ??? of many ??? those that are not ??? are permitted No. ??? are forbidden a person ??? on ??? take ??? he gives to him take ??? he gives to him but only that did not have wash ??? he gives ??? he gives ??? but if he took it, and gave ??? are exempt others say ??? a woman who had sexual relations two ??? at a time i.e., in a case ??? if it was open, ??? he opens ??? and if it was ??? its height ??? four behold! This is הרי זה is a voluntary act ??? Mar said: This is ??? What then does it mean when it says ??? this one with R' Yehudah ??? because of this R' Yehudah said: who in which there is to him two ??? with two ??? makes

דף ו,ב גמרא

??? from here ??? from here or ??? from here ??? from here ??? he gives in the midst of They said to him: yes. we make an eruv is a voluntary act the public objection But why? ??? for him ??? What would you have said? Because specifically, where they disagree is this: rabbis upon it of Rabbi Yehudah that is not you shall ??? that is only in the case lit., "these words" הני מילי ??? but: to throw ??? for him ??? Mar said: This is ??? What then does it mean when it says ??? Watch out for leading vav !! And the other one of Rabbi Yehudah For it was taught in a baraita Rabbi Yehudah says if it was a way ??? to the side But the sages say: it is not necessary for him But why? ??? for him ??? But the beginning of the teaching, ??? a Tanna taught: also at the end of the teaching, ??? also ??? for it is the case that It was taught: What is an example of one ??? that is large ??? and who can speak Abayye said: There is no difficulty. here, at a time i.e., in a case ??? in the wilderness here, at a time i.e., in a case ??? Mar said: if ??? and He brought in in error he is liable A sin-offering with intent ??? he is spiritually cut off ??? in error he is liable A sin-offering This is obvious! with intent ??? he is spiritually cut off ??? for him Here, too, This is obvious! Thus can we come and learn from this. Watch out for leading vav And it is like Rav for thus said Rabbi ??? among Rabbi Chiyya and It is written of it ??? son of Yehudah says root categories of forbidden labor on Shabbat ??? minus one and he is not liable except One Really? For it was taught in a mishna: root categories of forbidden labor on Shabbat ??? minus one and we were at of it ??? why do I have And Rabbi Yochanan said ??? all of them ??? one he is liable on all One and one except I would say he is not liable on One from them But hey, come and learn from this. this one ??? that is not ??? Mar said: but: sea ??? are not No. ??? and not ??? It is not No. ??? and not ??? the public Hey, isn't it the case that We have learnt in a Mishna: ??? in the days of the sun ??? to Shabbat ??? in the days of the rains ??? Ulla said In reality lit: In the world ??? But why? a seminal emission to it ??? on account of that is not ??? Rav Ashi said:
