PREVIEW OF THE DAFCAST WEBSITE FOR CYCLE 13

Please do not forward this link around yet! This is still in development and will be "released", God willing, on August 1, in time for the thirteenth cycle of Daf Yomi.

Disclaimers

This is an early draft. I haven't proofread; there are plenty of typos and probably some more significant errors as well.
Most pages on this site are currently auto-translated. The autotranslations are intended as a starting point for my manual translations. At best, they are awkward stringing-togethers of words and phrases in the corpus database that can benefit from cleaning up. At worst, they are picking the wrong homograph. Auto-translations are indicated by italics.
I am not a rabbi or an expert. These are my translations, and in some cases I am certainly misunderstanding things.
The Talmud is a document of its time. While the Talmud is a foundational document of Judaism, it must be read in its historical context. There are passages that are xenophobic, sexist, and irreconcilable with modern science. Not everything in these pages represents contemporary Judaism.

Copyright

This translation is protected by copyright. I'm putting a lot of effort into this project. Please respect that by only copying with my permission.
I intend to provide free licenses for most uses. I plan to use a Creative Commons CC-NC-BY-SA license, which will allow you to re-use my translations as long as you don't charge money for them (NC), as long as you give me credit (BY), and as long as you make your derived work available under the same terms (SA). But I'm not ready to do that yet because this is still a very rough work-in-progress.
In the meantime, if you want to re-use this, please contact me. I am willing to discuss re-use on an ad hoc basis. Perhaps the one page you want to use is actually ready for re-use. Ask. I'll probably work out a way to say "yes."

I need to clean up this section. But for now, I'll note that I've made use of the Hebrew/Aramaic text of the Bavli at Mechon Mamre; Jastrow's dictionary; "The Practical Talmud Dictionary" by Yitzchak Frank. I've also used the big three translations of the Talmud --- Soncino (English), Artscroll (English), and Steinsaltz (Hebrew) --- and the Kehati (English) edition of the Mishna, to help me understand passages before translating them.

דף קל,א משנה

??? We were accustomed in the land." and "in outside the land" i.e., outside the land of Israel before the house or in the case that one is not before the house ??? but not ??? that he was In justice, for just as if ??? those that are not are obligated ??? are obligated ??? holy offerings ??? is it not logical ??? Scripture states: (Lev. 7) ??? and to his children ??? the world he (except) does not have Just as ??? all ??? and redeemed they are obligated ??? ??? is permitted. after ??? outside is exempt And we do not make substitute offerings? and if Watch out for leading vav !! and they died? ??? except for the first-born and from the tithe all ??? ??? or ??? transgresses before ??? and after from here nolad to them ??? and redeemed are exempt from ??? and from ??? and are not ??? is forbidden after ??? outside he is liable doing substitute offerings? and if Watch out for leading vav !! and they died? ???

דף קל,א גמרא

The reason is ??? the Merciful One ??? this one Is this not thus then I might incorrectly say: holy offerings they are obligated ??? that it is possible ??? Just as ??? which provides they are obligated ??? Just as ??? which provides they are obligated creation ??? Just as ??? which provides enters ??? Just as to the elders which provides they would enter ??? Just as ??? which provides enters ??? holy offerings also ??? enters ??? Those who are ill they are obligated ??? by a "kal vachomer" for just as holy offerings that do not are obligated ??? they are obligated ??? Those who are ill ??? is it not logical ??? Scripture states: (Deut. 19) and this it shall be statute" the priests. this yes. something other than this No. except The reason is ??? the Merciful One this this one Is this not thus then I might incorrectly say: Those who are ill they are obligated ??? Hey, isn't it the case that he is required ??? in a case ??? If it was ??? (Lev. 7) before Hashem it is written

דף קל,ב גמרא

If it was ??? Those who are ill ??? Therefore, No. ??? except this why do I have ??? for he said: Rav Chisda the one who caused damage presentations the priesthood or ??? is exempt ??? Back to the main body of the text: Rav Chisdah said the one who caused damage presentations the priesthood or ??? is exempt ??? What is the reason? If you wish, I would say As it is written this And if you wish, I would say It is because of this: ??? money or property that do not to him specific properties They challenged him from this teaching: (Deut. 18) and this it shall be statute" the priests. This teaches ??? judgement for what Watch out for leading vav And the halacha is according to the opinion Is this not ??? No. ??? And it is like Rav Shmuel son of Nachmeni for he said: Rav Shmuel son of Nachmeni he said Rabbi ??? from where do we learn that do not ??? gifts ??? as it is said (II Chron. 31) and he said ??? Jerusalem to place ??? to the priests ??? so that ??? Hashem all ??? Hashem he has ??? but when it is not ??? Hashem he (??? ) does not have Come and hear: R' Yehudah en Beteira says statute" This teaches ??? judgement It is possible Even if ??? judgement Scripture states: this for what Shall I say ??? because ??? Is this not ??? except Is this not to discharge the mitzvah ??? Here in this case, with what are we dealing? ??? If it was ??? what is there to say? ??? but his thought is This a Tanna taught: presentations that did not have ??? Come and hear: the master of the house that he was transgresses from one place to another place and it is necessary to be picked up ??? Responded take ??? these are the words of Rabbi Eliezer Rav Chisdah said the attribute of ??? here, Rabba said: a Tanna taught: It was taught by ??? and is what you say? Do you really mean that? the attribute of ??? here, And furthermore, from that of Rabbi Eliezer he shall arise ??? except from the end of the teaching: But the sages say: Responded he was At that very hour The reason is for he answered this one ??? must make restitution why is it that ??? presentations the priesthood or ??? Rav Chisdah said the attribute of ??? here, Come and hear: from where do we learn ??? the house who ate ??? and thus Levi who ate ??? from where do we learn ??? from the laws of restitution Scripture states: (Lev. 22) and not ??? my sanctity the Children of Israel who ??? yes. to you of them except ??? this one ??? from this must make restitution why is it that ??? presentations the priesthood or ??? Here in this case, also,
