PREVIEW OF THE DAFCAST WEBSITE FOR CYCLE 13

Please do not forward this link around yet! This is still in development and will be "released", God willing, on August 1, in time for the thirteenth cycle of Daf Yomi.

This is an early draft. I haven't proofread; there are plenty of typos and probably some more significant errors as well.
Most pages on this site are currently auto-translated. The autotranslations are intended as a starting point for my manual translations. At best, they are awkward stringing-togethers of words and phrases in the corpus database that can benefit from cleaning up. At worst, they are picking the wrong homograph. Auto-translations are indicated by italics.
I am not a rabbi or an expert. These are my translations, and in some cases I am certainly misunderstanding things.
The Talmud is a document of its time. While the Talmud is a foundational document of Judaism, it must be read in its historical context. There are passages that are xenophobic, sexist, and irreconcilable with modern science. Not everything in these pages represents contemporary Judaism.

Copyright

This translation is protected by copyright. I'm putting a lot of effort into this project. Please respect that by only copying with my permission.
I intend to provide free licenses for most uses. I plan to use a Creative Commons CC-NC-BY-SA license, which will allow you to re-use my translations as long as you don't charge money for them (NC), as long as you give me credit (BY), and as long as you make your derived work available under the same terms (SA). But I'm not ready to do that yet because this is still a very rough work-in-progress.
In the meantime, if you want to re-use this, please contact me. I am willing to discuss re-use on an ad hoc basis. Perhaps the one page you want to use is actually ready for re-use. Ask. I'll probably work out a way to say "yes."

I need to clean up this section. But for now, I'll note that I've made use of the Hebrew/Aramaic text of the Bavli at Mechon Mamre; Jastrow's dictionary; "The Practical Talmud Dictionary" by Yitzchak Frank. I've also used the big three translations of the Talmud --- Soncino (English), Artscroll (English), and Steinsaltz (Hebrew) --- and the Kehati (English) edition of the Mishna, to help me understand passages before translating them.

??? these are the words of Rabbi Meir But the sages say: ??? The tanna teaches: from this But the beginning of the teaching, ??? transgresses ??? and He returned it and after this ??? of its mother is permitted. in cases regarding eating Is this not ??? No. ??? If it was ??? I would say at the end of the teaching, ??? of its mother and after this ??? is forbidden in cases regarding eating and if transgresses why is it that is forbidden Like that which was said by Rav Nachman bar Yitzchak No. ??? except to the place ??? Here in this case, also, No. ??? except to the place ??? Really? Hey, isn't it the case that For he came ??? he came and he carried it ??? in his hands a parsa ??? Is this not ??? a parsa ??? a parsa he did not return a parsa ??? transgresses If it was transgresses why does he the Tanna seize on the particular case of ??? even he did not return also Rav Nachman bar Yitzchak said No. ??? except to the place ??? Hey, isn't it the case that two ??? He used the wording to it Is this not one ??? and one to the place ??? No. one to the place ??? and one ??? a cow and who follow the reasoning ??? of Rabbi Shimon for he said: Rabbi Shimon ??? son of a cow is forbidden that is only in the case lit., "these words" הני מילי in a case ??? the world. but: ??? of its mother Sarai ??? Rabbi Yochanan said: ??? himself is permitted. He said to him: Rav Yehudah ??? Hey, isn't it the case that Rav And for Shmuel who both say ??? himself is forbidden He said to him: one he will give to us ??? of Rav And for Shmuel ??? except Thus said Rabbi Yochanan The entirety they were are in the general category (Ex. 22) meat in the field ??? No. ??? to you the scripture regarding A sin-offering ??? except ??? is forbidden A sin-offering he ??? the Merciful One of it but: In all things immediately ??? Sarai They challenged him from this teaching: meat in the field ??? No. ??? Just as Therefore, scripture states: on account of ??? two ??? by the mouth of that were taken out from the Courtyard except ??? and they returned are permitted It is possible Even this thus Therefore, scripture states: ??? What then does it mean when it says ??? Rabbah said ??? Just as ??? immediately ??? for the remainder It does not have permission Even meat immediately that went out except ??? for the remainder he (permission) does not have ??? because of Ulla ??? Mar said: on account of ??? two ??? As it is written (Deut. 12) No. ??? to eat ??? tithe ??? etc. ??? he that is not ??? but: they have fulfilled the mitzvah except ??? and they returned are permitted in the west ??? thus Rav said: there are ??? And Rabbi Yochanan said: yes. ??? What then does it mean when it says ??? There is this difference between them: ??? They posed this difficulty: according to the words of One who says yes. ??? who transgress ??? and He returned it and he returned ??? ??? and He returned it until ??? What then? who say this one ??? for him ??? or, perhaps, immediately ??? he returns if you seek to say immediately ??? he returns ??? transgresses ??? and he returned ??? ??? until ??? What then? who say this one he departs for him ??? or, perhaps, ??? "At the same time," in the case of Come and hear:
